WoodrocK was born for the pleasure of playing stripped versions of rock, alternative and even grunge songs. The WoodrocK trio has put together a repertoire consisting mainly of songs from the ’80s and’ 90s. Philippe Doherty and Dominic Dionne met in Val-d’Or in December 2014. An improvised collaboration on Bob Seger’s Turn the page, version Metallica, was the start of this project … The name WoodrocK is a reference to the fact that acoustic guitars (wood) can be as percussive (rock) as their electric sisters … They also evolve within the group Zone 13 from the Temiscamingue region. Recently Pascal Bibeau joined the group and added percussions. The trio opted for the acoustic formula to allow a greater proximity with the emotions and this is what WoodrocK seeks to offer their fans. Here is the link to the WoodrocK Facebook page.
