The cheese fondue is served with our own cubed bread, potatoes, crispy apples, marinated vegetables and a few charcuteries.
Our chocolate fondue is served with fresh fruits and French lady fingers.
What is a Fondue
Fondue is a Swiss dish of melted cheese served in a communal pot (caquelon or fondue pot) over a candle or heater, and eaten by dipping bread, potatoes, vegetables into the cheese using long-stemmed forks. It was promoted as a Swiss national dish in the 1930s, and was popularized in North America in the 1960s. Since the 1950s, the name “fondue” has been generalized to other dishes in which a food is dipped into a communal pot of liquid kept hot in a fondue pot. other popular fondues are the chocolate fondue, in which pieces of fruit or pastry are dipped into a melted chocolate mixture, and the fondue bourguignonne, in which pieces of meat are cooked in hot oil or broth.
Elvis, Johnny & Me – a New Show from Steve Benoit
Steve Benoit is launching a new show at Cafe Meteor Bistro : Elvis, Johnny & Me. Hear great successes from Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and Steve’s own songs. Learn about the lives of these legends. A great live music evening to remember.
Steve began his journey as a songwriter in the early nineties after moving to Northern California. Unsure about how to write a song at all he started drawing from his childhood and experiences growing up in Haileybury. With songs like ‘Mill Creek’, ‘The Mine’, ‘The Lakeshore Hotel’ and ‘The Great Fire of 1922’, he began finding his voice as a storyteller.
Fast forward to the summer of 2007, Nashville, Tn where Steve auditioned for a Broadway Tour called ‘Ring of Fire’. Having no expectations and a love of the music, he was offered a role on the spot. Beginning in September 2007 through the spring of 2008, Steve toured all across the USA performing the music of Johnny Cash. In 2010, someone who worked with him on Ring of Fire told him about another audition, this time for a Broadway show called Million Dollar Quartet. For the next 4 years he worked with different productions as an understudy for the roles of Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash. He worked in New York on and off Broadway, performed as the lead of Elvis in Chicago for a stint and was sent out to different locations on their National Tour. In the spring of 2017 Steve performed the role of Cash with a production in Georgia for a week, and also performed two sold out nights at the historic Ryman Auditorium in a production called The Cash Legacy with a company called Studio Tenn.
He is back to his hometown where he is inspired by the people and the landscape. To purchase some of his CD’s you can visit CD Baby Music Store.
