Nicole Guertin and Jocelyn Blais are the owners of the Presidents’ Suites Historical Homes. About a year ago, they decided to start exploring the idea of opening a café/bistro-type restaurant in the Temiskaming region.
Jocelyn is passionate about food. He has excellent knowledge in this respect, having been responsible for the food preparation and collaborations that the Presidents’ Suites have been providing for their clients during the past few years. He has also been the driving force behind the startup of a local farmer’s market and a community-driven initiative to promote local products. Jocelyn has a background in business and engineering. He is the general manager of the Café Meteor Bistro.
Nicole is a connector both in the community and in the region. Having been the instigator and the general manager of a provincial tourism organization for several years, she has a thorough understanding of tourism and customer service. She has been behind several local initiatives such as the ‘petit-goût du nord’ and involved in local organizations such as the Lake Temiskaming Tour. She is currently the Ontario representative for the Foire Gourmande in Ville-Marie, Quebec. Nicole plays a key role in linking local producers to our Chef and kitchen staff. Her initial career as a community nurse is also a strong link to healthy eating and having a healthy community.
